Tear gas incident 10 years ago in parliament, Haxhiu and others declared innocent

The Speaker of Parliament, Albulena, then a member of parliament, and former members of parliament Donika Kadaj-Bujupi, Pal Lekaj, and Besa Baftiu have been declared innocent by the Basic Court in Pristina after 10 years in connection with the use of tear gas in the Kosovo Assembly.

This was announced by Musa Damati, Pal Lekaj's lawyer, who said that this is a triumph for the defense.

"This is an extraordinary success of the defense in the representation procedures conducted over the years, and it is finally a triumph of justice and it is a pure legal victory in relation to my client," he said in an address to the media.

Meanwhile, Burim Halili, lawyer for the Speaker of Parliament, Albulena Haxhiu, also announced that the same is the case with the Assembly, saying that the Speaker of Parliament Albulena Haxhiu has taken action against the Association and that she has been declared innocent in the tear gas case.
