"Kurti is a party chairman, not a leader", Krasniqi: He only knows how

Electoral calculations are more of a priority for Kurti than calculations for Kosovo. This is what analyst Afrim Krasniqi said in the Off the Record studio with Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN, after Kurti's recent exit as prime minister and the impasse created over the election of the president.

According to Krasniqi, Kurti showed that he is only a party leader and not a leader for Kosovo.

"This is a typical case where Mr. Kurti showed that he is a party leader. Being the leader of a country means offering solutions for the country and having the ability to understand what the essence of the solution is. The formula for the president of Kosovo is foreseen in such a way that it is a consensual formula. It is not foreseen that you create such mimes where every day he appoints two candidates, withdraws them after two days, introduces two other names and holds press conferences. I saw Mr. Kurti's arguments today and I say it with regret, perhaps also personal, because the expectations could have been different. I understood that electoral calculations are more of a priority for him than calculations for Kosovo," Krasniqi said on Off the Record with Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN.

According to him, Kosovo is at a critical moment and does not have the luxury of wasting time with the distribution of posts, while the opposition's disagreement has weakened the process.

"And I think that Kosovo is at a critical moment. Kosovo does not have the luxury of wasting a single minute with the division of posts and a sterile debate that does not bring anything to Kosovo, nor to its international position. The majority has won the votes necessary to govern the country. But the majority has not won the votes to govern all of Kosovo. It has won 51% of the votes, enough to govern the country. It could have made a choice between the candidacies of the other party, forcing the opposition to come forward with a candidacy and I, along with the idea that the opposition, with its disagreement and lack of negotiations within it, weakened the process. But essentially the master of the house is the prime minister of Kosovo. The man who has taken over the parliament is the prime minister of Kosovo. The head of the parliament will also take over the president. The citizens did not vote for the president, who has a mandate one year longer than the prime minister. Here we will hold new elections. What will happen? I may get one or two more mandates and we will still go there. And what is the cost of Kosovo, a "new state, five EU states do not recognize it, aid blocked in international relations, two years of lobbying to lift EU sanctions. To have the luxury of fighting for another two years."
