Another commander of the Russian army dies, the reason remains a mystery

One of Vladimir Putin's most notorious commanders, Lt. Col. Dmitry Lisitsky, has reportedly died of a gunshot wound at the age of 48.
There are conflicting claims about who is behind his death, with Ukraine claiming he was "liquidated" in retaliation for the infamous massacre of hundreds of its soldiers as they retreated in 2014 to the Ilovai Cauldron, the Daily Mail reports.
Russian sources insist he killed himself with a hunting rifle in his kitchen in his hometown of Stavropol amid "depression" over the war in Ukraine.
Lisitsky, a recipient of his country's highest medal, the Hero of Russia, was the commander of the 1st Air Assault Battalion of the 247th Air Assault Regiment. His death was first reported by Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Butusov, who claimed that the forces of Kiev "again took revenge for Ilovaisk, liquidating Dmitry Lisitsky".
