An Albanian has been sentenced for drug trafficking in Great Britain. Albanian Mikael Kanaçi was caught while transporting a kilogram of cannabis worth 12 thousand pounds. Kanaçi was transporting the drugs in his car, in which a baseball bat was also found.
Kanaç tried to go back with his van to escape from the police, colliding with another vehicle, but he was blocked and stopped by the officers.
The Albanian was questioned by the police and refused to speak in front of the officers. The 27-year-old Kanaçi was taken to court where he pleaded guilty to drug trafficking.
While his defense lawyer stated that Kanacci was not aware of what he was transporting. But for its part, the court emphasized that the equipment seized from the van, such as the baseball bat, clearly showed that the Albanian was trying to protect himself from any possible danger.
The Albanian was sentenced to 9 months in prison and was banned from driving for 16 and a half months.
