"Pink Moon" lights up the sky today: What is it and why is it called that?

Tonight the sky will offer a special sight for all those who want to see the stars: the "Pink Moon", the full moon of April, according to "Io Donna".

Although the name might make you think otherwise, the Moon will not be pink.

It is named after a spring flower in North America, "Phlox subulata", which blooms during this period and has pink hues.

The name is related to nature and the season, not to the actual color of the Moon.

This full moon is also known as the "Easter Moon" because it is used to determine the date of the Easter holiday.

According to tradition, Easter is celebrated on the Sunday after the full moon.

Astronomically, the phenomenon is an ordinary full Moon, but it becomes more interesting to watch when it is near the horizon.

At those moments, it can take on warm orange or golden colors, creating a very beautiful appearance.

The peak of this phenomenon is expected around 04:11 in the morning, but the Moon will be visible throughout the night.
