From prison, Veliaj creates himself with Artificial Intelligence and shares messages on social networks

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, who has been in detention since 2025, has published a message created with Artificial Intelligence.

In the message published on social networks, Veliaj explains that due to the inability to communicate directly, he has used Artificial Intelligence to address citizens.

"I have been held hostage for 20 months and I can only say this greeting with artificial intelligence," says Veliaj.

In the message, he talks about the work of the Tirana Municipality administration during his tenure, mentioning the construction of schools, kindergartens and nurseries.

Veliaj also dwells on one of his commitments regarding school meals, stating that he will follow through on this promise regardless of the situation he finds himself in.

"I made another commitment that I will never forget: food in schools. They really have trapped me, ambushing me, but I will keep this promise," he declares.

Veliaj says he will continue to work from detention, while the use of Artificial Intelligence has enabled him to publish the message in video form, despite his physical absence from public activities.
