Cyberattack on the electronic system of the Parliament, the institution reacts: We are recovering the deleted data of several users and are investigating the source

The Parliament of Albania informs that yesterday evening, at around 9:00 PM, an unauthorized access to the institution's IT infrastructure was detected. During the verifications, it was noticed that part of the information in several user accounts of administration employees was deleted.
Preliminary technical assessment indicates that this could be a sophisticated cyber attack, which aimed to delete data and compromise several internal systems.
Initial analyses show that the main work infrastructure has not been affected. The official website of the Parliament of Albania and other systems that support the functioning of the institution continue to function normally.
Immediately after the incident was detected, measures were taken to isolate suspicious traffic and neutralize the attack. In the meantime, technical teams are working to recover deleted data from user accounts.
A joint technical and investigative team has been set up for this situation and is working to fully analyze the incident, identify the source of the attack and restore the affected data. In this process, the Albanian Parliament is closely cooperating with the institutions responsible for cybersecurity, including the National Cyber Security Authority (AKSK), the Cyber Crime Investigation Directorate at the State Police and the Cyber Command at the Ministry of Defense.
It is also learned that the Security Council has been convened urgently.
Also, during these hours, technical support was provided by international partners, with whom communication is continuing to assess the situation and further steps.
Earlier today, in a post on Telegram, Homeland Justice admitted that it had attacked the Parliament's email.
The well-known activist group claims to possess all the conversations of Albanian MPs and their correspondence over the past few months.
