Citizens of three villages in Berat have launched a protest in front of the Municipality, due to the lack of a road. It is learned that the residents of the villages of Gjeroven, Mbolan and Veleshnje have joined forces, protesting in front of the Municipality to demand the construction of the road.
A four-person delegation from the protest entered the municipality premises to discuss their problems. They were received by the mayor of Berat, Ervin Ceca, who told them that even if they went on strike, the road would not be built.
According to the protesters, Ceca had told them that they do not have the funds to build the road. Meanwhile, the citizens said that the government only loves them during the elections.
"We met with the mayor. He told us; we don't have the funds to build the road. He said; 'block the road, go on strike, do whatever you want. We don't ask about you,' he told us. They lie to you all day long. They come to get the votes and then leave. They didn't give us hope, they told us 'we don't have the funds!'" said one of the protesters.
