Analyst Andi Bushati told MCN that the opposition should not enter the elections for the mayor of Tirana, if they are held early due to the imprisonment of Erion Veliaj, as according to him, it has lost the race.
Bushati said that episodes of irregularities in the May 11 elections that emerged during the recount should be denounced, but the analyst adds that the emphasis should be placed on the entire process, as the elections were manipulated without the ballot boxes being opened.
" Involved in the overthrow of the DP elections, it is doing something that is not always credible, it finds a vote somewhere and says here is the official train."
With the videos that the DP has shown, we have indeed seen scandalous things, but are they determinants in the outcome? Here we have two versions: a lonely man cannot steal for nothing, but there is a master who has ordered him to steal.
Regardless of this, I say that these elections were predetermined before May 11. The race has become impossible without the ballot boxes being opened. Rama and the majority have not left their victory for the last day.
I don't think the great sin of these elections was played out on May 11. On May 11, or even on the 10th, the race was closed. These episodes definitely need to be denounced, but we should emphasize the entire process, which was unfair, dishonest, and unfree.
Politically, does Rama need new elections in Tirana? One version is yes, because it makes the opposition forget May 11 and throws it into another battle.
There is another hypothesis that as soon as Veliaj was imprisoned, Rama purged the Municipality of Tirana of all Lali-ists.
Politically, Rama has no problem putting him in the elections again. Especially since there are many rivalries, and the SP itself is interested in appeasing him and postponing it to a later date.
"All those who were interested in politically burning Veliaj achieved their goal, from Rama to the opposition, they no longer have to trample on him," Bushati said.
Asked who he sees as possible candidates from the SP and the DP for the Municipality of Tirana, Bushati said:

We no longer have a Socialist Party where decisions are made collectively. No one has a hand in decision-making except for one person.
I say that the opposition should not participate. No one will let the Democratic Party (DP) challenge the mayor of Tirana. So it is better to devalue the race than to enter a race that it has lost .
Bushati said that Agron Shehaj's proposal for a joint non-partisan candidate stands, but is unfeasible, as "there is so much distrust among the new parties, who equate the DP with the SP and do not want to identify with it."
