"Justice is being attacked by those who knew themselves to be untouchable", Agron Shehaj: Opposition unity is not enough to incite popular revolt

At the forum table "Protection of Justice and the Fight against Corruption", the chairman of the "Mundësia" party, Agron Shehaj, said that on the day that the Albanian justice system brought the "untouchables" and the corrupt to justice, attacks began on prosecutors and judges who restored Albanians' faith in justice and equality before the law.
According to Shehaj, it is historic that people with power are being brought to justice, but the unprecedented attack on justice should spark a popular reaction.
"The reason why we are gathered like this is that while Albanian society sees light at the end of the tunnel, we see an unprecedented attack on justice and a reaction from opposition parties that has not sparked a reaction among citizens. And we ask ourselves what is happening, do they want to steal from them?", said Shehaj.
According to him, although it is being discussed that a unity of the opposition would bring about the overthrow of the government, Shehaj said that society would follow politics if they had trust in it.
"I do not believe that the unity of the opposition is enough, we need a unity beyond political parties. I think that people will come out in defense of justice, the day they will have faith in politics. You must have credibility, it is not enough to be an opposition member. We should not put on trial those who do not come out in the open", said the leader of the "Mundësia" party, Agron Shehaj.
