Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj has reacted again from his cell, saying that his investigation file is false and that he is being held in prison without trial.

On Facebook, Veliaj has published some images from the new bazaar, while emphasizing that no one can erase the work that has been done in Tirana.

"Neither with false files nor with sentences without trial, no one can erase the great work we have done in Tirana, like here in the New Bazaar, which 8 years ago we turned into an identity and the most visited place by tourists. Strength!", writes Veliaj.

During the morning, through a post on his social network Facebook, Veliaj says that he is accused of criminal offenses punishable by up to 27 years in prison.

"Judge Bani reasons that since Ols Dado accuses me of crimes punishable by 12 and 15 years - that is, 27 years in prison - I would flee Albania," writes Veliaj.

The mayor says he was in Germany on the day of the raid and returned immediately. Veliaj said he traveled to the US twice more, on December 30 and January 20, and returned again.

"Do you understand? Since Olsi will ask for 27 plus years in prison, I have to be imprisoned even before the trial starts. But I was in Germany on the day of the raid and I returned immediately! I traveled to the USA twice more on December 30 and January 20 and returned again. Where is the danger? Where is the escape? Wouldn't the measure of keeping the passport be enough, so that even the escape from Olsi and Bani would not be affected, but I could also continue my work for Tirana, which should not stop for a moment?" Veliaj writes.
