"I resign in the name of morality" - Dervishi reveals how Rusmaili resigned as minister: Today it is unthinkable

Journalist Lutfi Dervishi has brought back to attention what was once called the "Rusmaili standard", comparing it to today's political reality, where, according to him, moral sensitivity to scandals has disappeared.
Invited to the show Off the Record with Andrea Dangli, Dervishi brought into context the event when the then Minister of Justice offered his resignation only after a wiretap, where a family member of his was indirectly mentioned for a tender. "In the name of morality, I resign, because I trust the law," was the minister's statement at the time, an action that today, according to Dervishi, "is not even considered."
The journalist emphasized that the affair at that time, which was later revealed, was minimal compared to the figures circulating in the public today, where there is talk of tens and hundreds of millions of euros, even amounts exceeding a billion, without any institutional or political reaction. "There is no longer any sense of proportion, there is no sensitivity," he said.
Dervishi also criticized the opposition, warning that using half-truths and spinning events harms them as much as the government. According to him, the opposition does not need to raise its voice or raise its tension, as the sheer weight of problems, from emigration to the aging population, has put the government in a weaker position.
