"The way we are, the DP cannot win!"/ Should Berisha leave? Here's how Salianji responds

Former Democratic Party MP, Ervin Salianji, has stated that within his group, the issue of Sali Berisha's departure from the leadership of the DP has not been discussed at all.
"This discussion has not been discussed. It is a discussion that could have been after the May 11 elections, none of us has requested this to date," he said.
In News 24, he emphasized that the sole focus of his meetings with the Democrats is the renewal of the party and the return of meritocracy. According to him, the DP in the current situation has no chance of winning, and the goal is for the DP to be the winner.
"The goal is for the DP to be a winner, for me. The way we are, the DP cannot win. We are once at the goal, then at you. Should it be a winner? Yes. The DP should be a winner by breaking some columns that have damaged the party ," he said.
"Let's get meritocracy back on track," Salianji said further, while bringing to attention the lists of MPs on May 11, to which he said he reacted with a letter from prison, where he declared that "we are not on the right track."
"The personal interest is for the DP to be the winner, for the people who have sacrificed for the DP and have come out with the most votes to be in the places they seek and deserve, the interest is for Rama to be overthrown, also because of the sentence. We must be in revolt ," said the former MP.
Salianji: This discussion has not been discussed. It is a discussion that could have been after the May 11 elections, none of us has asked for this until today. We are having a discussion, is there any other way but to meet and talk to people. Politics has an essential element, if you speak somewhere and you are not heard, or decisions are not made as you think, you seek greater support. Support is sought from those who are in this relationship, from the party owners, the membership.
The goal is for the DP to be a winner, for me. The way we are, the DP cannot win. We are first at the goal, then at you. Should it be a winner? Yes. The DP should be a winner by breaking some of the pillars that have damaged the party.
After the elections, after the list for MPs came out, I reacted with a letter from prison and said that we are not on the right track. I demand that there be meritocracy so that careers in the DP advance on the basis of some written principles that are respected, not that Hysen Kadiu in Tirana, Dashi in Elbasan, Ilir in Dibër, and others come out first, and that they are not seeds on the list. But it should be decided that whoever comes out first in the vote should be this one. If there is another mechanism, let's implement it.
At this stage, we, I have some thoughts and I am asking other democrats, to be fair, there has been no similar case in the DP for someone to come out and have this support from the base, the only case was Berisha facing Basha. Competition is one thing, meeting with the democrats is another, participation shows something, does it show that the structure is with you? Does it show or not? It matters a lot, numbers in politics are more important, the goal is more noble, to bring out the winning DP.
Let's get the meritocracy back on track. Let's get the Democrats together, let's say it, then come up with a complete product for a position. My rhetoric is unifying. My position is that I have only one personal interest, that the DP be the winner, because I went to prison for this party. The interest is that the DP be the winner, the people who have sacrificed for the DP and have come out with the most votes to be in the places they seek and deserve, the interest is that Rama be overthrown, also because of the sentence. We must be in revolt. There are two positions, one is that Rama steals our elections, I say that we cannot say all the time that Rama cannot win and that is why I say that we defeat Rama starting from ourselves.
We have not decided on any discussion about what will happen with Mr. Berisha, but about some problems that exist in the DP. That's why I say it needs to be renewed. We are making efforts for unity.
