Monika Kryemadhi confirms the separation from Ilir Meta: I don't remember the last time I was there

MP Monika Kryemadhi filed today in the Assembly a draft law related to the status of the deputy of the Assembly of Albania, which, according to Kryemadhi, aims to strengthen the role of the deputy and the parliament in controlling the activity of public bodies.
" As a deputy, I believe that transparency and the right to information are essential for the preservation of public interest and the fight against abuse of power and corruption, phenomena that are disturbing in the central and local administration ," said Kryemadhi.
She further stated that through the draft law, it is intended that every member of parliament conducts independent activities in the active and institutional denunciation of illegality.
" This proposal for a more effective role of the Member of the Assembly is above all a service for the citizen, so that the members have all the opportunities to be interested in the voters, to follow their problems, to protect them citizens from the abuse of institutions and to offer concrete solutions for them" , adds Kryemadhi.
Kryemadhi emphasizes the need for MPs to have full access to information regarding government buildings and municipalities in the country.
" The draft law proposed today provides that in the event that the head of the institution does not provide information repeatedly, the procedure will include administrative and criminal consequences for the head of the institution, as well as charge the Speaker of the Assembly, the General Secretary and the prime minister, to ensure that this issue does not remain at the discretion of the structures ," she said.
Afterwards, Kryemadhi was asked by journalists about the distancing that has been done to her by the leaders of the Freedom Party, including her husband, leader Ilir Meta. Kryemadhi emphasizes that she already has other priorities as a deputy.
"To tell you the truth, I didn't remember when was the last time (that I was in PL). The main thing is my duty as a deputy, it's a novelty in my daily life. Even a bigger responsibility, some bills which I am getting ready to present them. We will have conversations. Being a deputy is a priority instead of what we have been through ," said Kryemadhi.
Therefore, Kryemadhi has called on the opposition to end the boycotts as they are damaging the opposition and do not bring results in the fight against corruption.
