The DP joined the votes with the government/ Why wasn't Balluku mentioned in the resolution? - Berisha: It was implied in every paragraph!
The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, stated that the resolution approved yesterday (May 14) in Parliament on the European integration process, where he joined the votes with the Socialist Party, does not contain any assessment of the work of the government and the Assembly.
Asked by journalist Osman Stafa why Belinda Balluku is not mentioned as an obstacle to integration, as the DP declares, Berisha argued that if she were mentioned, there would be no resolution.
Berisha stated that they "are implied in every paragraph" of the approved document.
"Absolutely, in that resolution from the first line to the last, no assessment is expressed, even the smallest, for the work of the parliament and the government in the integration process, as you can see. But, I completely agree with you. They deserved to be there, but then there would be no resolution. They are self-evident in every paragraph. Lubi Balluku is self-evident where the implementation of the decisions of the institutions is required. Olta Xhaçka is self-evident where the implementation of the decisions of the institutions is required. The central role of the parliament is addressed in several paragraphs where it is requested to be taken because it does not exist. The demands on the government are made because it has nothing in that field. And in the end it is concluded that integration into the EU must be based on merit, as the DP has always demanded. So, what you say is true, but it is true that they are implicit in every paragraph. Otherwise, there would be no resolution," Berisha said at a press conference.
Berisha added that the opposition continues to support Albania's European integration, but only on the basis of merit and fulfillment of criteria.
"But we believe that that resolution represents in some aspect, completely stripping away any pretensions of the parliament and the government to this day, a position of the opposition, which has had a statement for two years. Its statement is this: that we fully support the integration process, but we emphasize that Albania, apart from the geopolitical criterion, which is a very important criterion, does not meet any other criteria. If you read that resolution with this eye, what we expressed two years ago is embodied in every paragraph of it. If we were to demand that at AKSHI, Edi Rama's private kindergarten, Linda Rama's name appear alongside Mirlinda, Lubi Balluku, Edi Rama and others, of course Edi Rama would never allow them to vote for him.
But they voted for a resolution, which from alpha to omega sets demands and does not have a single assessment of the work of the government and parliament in terms of integration. On the contrary, in every phrase it makes clear the major problems that need to be addressed, up to the denunciation of the Rama-Vučić effort for other paths of integration. On the other hand, the resolution once again proves to the Albanians the DP's consistency towards the integration process. Towards integration based on merit, on performance", declared the leader of the DP.
