DP-SP with joint draft for financing political parties, gifts from individuals and businesses are limited

The Socialist and Democratic Parties have come together with a draft on the financing of political parties, which will be presented tomorrow to the committee for review.

The law provides clear limits on the financial contributions that parties can receive:

*Albanian citizen: maximum 200,000 lek per year.

*Tax registered individual: maximum 500,000 lek per year.

*Legal entity: maximum 1,000,000 lek per year.

Any donation over 50,000 lek must be made only through the banking system.

The draft will be publicly announced for consultation and will then follow the procedures for approval in the Assembly.
