Rama from Tivat attacks the people in the square with "espionage"

Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted from Tivat, on the eve of the start of the EU-Western Balkans Summit, regarding the recent debates and protests over the Zvërnec project.

Rama stated that currently there is no approved project yet and therefore, according to him, there is nothing concrete to discuss.

" There is no request to discuss, because there is still no approved project. First the project must exist, then we will see it and only then discuss it ," he stated.

The Prime Minister described the debates on social media and public reactions as part of what he called "false narratives" and "hybrid wars against Albania," also mentioning claims that, according to him, do not hold up.

" Listen, first of all, this is not just about environmentalists. Or, more accurately, it's not just about them.

This is related, first of all, to a hybrid war and to the enemies of the country. We know who they are. Anyone who knows our history knows them too.

"The Iranians, who have long been involved in cyberattacks against us and who have caused us so much damage that we were forced to expel them, are part of this effort to feed the narrative that the project is not what it is said to be, but an agreement between me and Bibi Netanyahu, concocted by Jared Kushner, to bring Palestinians from Gaza to Albania ," Rama said.

Rama stressed that the media should be careful and based on facts, adding that there can be no concerns about a project that does not yet exist in an approved form.

Rama rejected the claims about the project in Zvërnec, stating that it is not the one that has been publicly talked about and that citizens have been shown fake videos produced in Tirana.

" The project in Zvërnec is not what was talked about. You have seen fake videos from Tirana... There is nothing to discuss, because there is no approved project ," Rama said.

He also added that internationally renowned architects and engineers have been involved in this initiative, while the goal is not to damage nature, but to realize a project that, according to him, will be "unique for Albania and a gift to Europe."
