Former DP MP Ervin Salianji has once again commented on his meetings with democratic citizens, saying that he has no personal interest at all, but the main goal is to awaken the DP.

Salianji states that the Democratic Party is currently in a status quo, which according to him serves the current government, hindering the growth and openness of the party, as well as holding responsibilities.

"Under these conditions, together with other colleagues, we thought that we should wake up the DP and let the other processes happen," he said.

The former MP emphasized that he has good relations with Sali Berisha, adding that his commitment is not related to his career within the party, but to concern about the state of the DP and the need for renewal.

"I see that in these moments not only do we need to take some important steps in the renewal of the DP, but it must be done as soon as possible. The DP is indispensable to society as it has been shown in these times, more than indispensable. Strengthening the DP serves society," he said.

Salianji: Everyone can call it what they want, it is a representation of a concern that exists among many democrats. The DP, in my view and that of some colleagues who have taken this initiative, is in a status quo, which serves to stay in place, the failure to grow the DP, the failure to open up and not to hold responsibilities is an unfair advantage for Rama to have. In these conditions, together with other colleagues, we thought that we should wake up the DP and for other processes to take place.

The first phase was awakening, it is not done for personal interest. I have very good relations with Berisha, I have a defined function in unit 6 in Tirana. I had no risk to have a career in the DP or to advance in the conditions that are, but I have a concern that exceeds that personal interest.

I'm not saying that Berisha doesn't have it, I'm saying why I'm in this position. I see that in these moments not only do we need to take some important steps in renewing the DP, but it needs to be done as soon as possible. The DP is indispensable to society as has been shown in these times, more than indispensable. Strengthening the DP serves society.

I have spoken everywhere about the need to reform the DP.
