SPAK detailed property investigation also for the Liri Berisha Foundation
SPAK, which months ago launched investigations into the origin of the assets of the entire Berisha family, is also investigating the funds and real estate of the Foundation for Albanian Children, the non-governmental organization founded by Liri Berisha.

According to the information collected by the investigative editorial staff of Shqiptarja.com, SPAK is analyzing the income and expenses of the foundation, (officially dedicated to helping autistic children), including donations and purchases. Among other things, the investigation is also affecting the funds invested for the purchase of a Foundation villa in the area of the former lake of Farka, which is used as a business headquarters.

Liri Berisha's foundation has been mentioned in several media chronicles in the past, after it was revealed that during a charity dinner organized in Tirana at the time when Sali Berisha was prime minister, various businessmen bought works of art at very high prices put up for sale auctioned by the Foundation. Among other things, a painting was bought for 100 thousand euros. The price paid was many times higher than the real value of the works, and since then it was suspected that those purchases were disguised as charity, but were actually "gifts" paid to the Liri Berisha foundation, which the husband then returned with tenders and other political favors.

SPAK is now investigating the Foundation's financial statements for the first time, as well as the rest of the family's assets. At the center of the financial investigation are dozens of lands and apartments owned by his daughter Argita and his son-in-law Jamarber and his son Shkëlzen. Their current accounts, bank loans, invoices, consultancies, expenses abroad and of course the luxury villa of Gjiri t Lalzi at the center of a mysterious real estate operation that happened at the same time when Sali Berisha gave a building permit to the builder who was making the resort and the villa that then became their property.

The property investigations for the Berisha family, which no state authority has ever dared to carry out in the past, began after SPAK started criminal proceedings for corruption and money laundering related to the privatization of the former Partizani sports club for which Sali Berisha and his son-in-law are still under house arrest./ Shqiptarja.com
