"Let's prepare the law for referendums", Rama: We will reduce the number of MPs! We will give the Assembly a "new home"

Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that the government will propose a law on referendums and plans to reduce the number of MPs, considering this a step towards involving citizens in direct decision-making.
At the SP Assembly, Rama also emphasized Albania's progress in the European integration process and described the European Commission's report as excellent, ironizing the meetings of democratic deputies in Brussels and Berlin, where he said that "there is no cuckoo exile to stop us."
Edi Rama: I want to repeat one thing, the wise saying of our neighbors across the Adriatic who say the baby cannot be thrown out with the dirty water. This should guide us on this path because our patience must be heroic in the face of the filth that is thrown at us. History will remember only one name, the Socialist Party, the time of reform and the independence of justice. We must face the filth that comes at us from all sides.
Another very important thing that we need to communicate is that we raised the issue of integration as an issue among us.
It's very beautiful how history has been turned upside down, until yesterday they said it was imaginary and Rama's game to distract us from real problems, now they come out and say we were at the door and we were about to enter the EU.
There is a saying: a fool does not say he who says stupid things but who believes them himself. The negotiations have not stopped for a second. The EC report is excellent. We will close the negotiations within the mandate and there is no cuckoo exile in Berlin and Brussels to stop us. There is no chance that those who stole Albania's time will continue to do so.
We will reduce the number of deputies, I think we are late for this. But we have all the time we need to call the Albanians to a referendum, so we must bring forward the missing law on referendums. There are also other issues that we must put before the Albanians. The new law is feasible within this session. The Assembly has insufficient resources with which it functions.
The Assembly does not even have a home. Maybe this will take some time, but it is a job that must be done. We must completely depoliticize the electoral administration, whether those who never vote want it or not. It is perhaps the only country in Europe left with a political administration of electoral commissions. I believe that by doing these two things we will provide answers to many concerns that are artificially created and that are magnified worldwide.
