Buta appears before the court in Ferizaj, requests release from detention

The well-known rapper from Ferizaj, Buta (real name: Betim Januzaj), appeared today (Wednesday) before the Basic Court in Ferizaj, where he is facing charges of drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons.
He was arrested on September 11, and on September 12, the court approved his detention.
During the court hearing, Buta requested release from detention, emphasizing that he is the head of the family and has major family obligations.
" I am the only male in the family and I take care of my 63-year-old mother, one-year-old daughter and wife. Who, without me, cannot meet their basic needs ," he told the court.
Meanwhile, in another related development, the Supreme Court has upheld the 17-year prison sentence against his brother, Qëndrim Januzaj, who was also convicted of similar criminal offenses.
The case has attracted significant public attention, as Buta is one of the most well-known names in the rap scene in Kosovo and the region. However, judicial authorities have not yet issued a final decision regarding his request for release from detention.
The trial is expected to continue in the coming days. It remains to be seen whether the request for release from detention will be accepted by the court.
