19 Albanians arrested for drug trafficking in Italy, drugs were ordered via WhatsApp

A large-scale operation by the Italian Police has led to the arrest of 20 people, 19 of whom are Albanians, accused of drug distribution and other criminal acts.
According to foreign media , the criminal organization used support from several Italians and legitimate commercial activities, such as call centers and money transfer services, to manage the distribution and laundering of money.
The distribution of the drugs was done in a sophisticated manner, with buyers contacting several Italian numbers through the WhatsApp application .
A 'centralist' would receive the order and send the distributor to the meeting place, preserving the anonymity of both parties and making detection by the police more difficult.
During the operation, over 600 grams of cocaine, 80 grams of cannabinoids and 38,376 euros suspected to be proceeds from criminal activity were seized. The investigations have also identified 40 drug users, aged 25-60, all residents of Piacenza.
The arrested foreign nationals have been deported from Italy and repatriated to Albania, while investigations continue to identify other members of the network and prevent the illegal transfer of money abroad.
