Did not accept her Albanian origin, Eleni Foureira reveals the reason

The world-famous singer, Eleni Foureira, has recently spoken about her Albanian origins.
For the first time, she has confessed the reason why she kept the fact that she is Albanian a secret and talked about the racism she faced at the beginning of her career.
"When I was 19-20 years old, I came to Greece and growing up here, I learned that it was bad to be from Albania, they insulted you somehow, but I didn't understand why.
Growing up, this became a thorn in my side, when I told people I was from Albania, I watched how they would react.
I wish I hadn't experienced racism, so that I wouldn't have a thorn in my leg when I said "I'm from Albania" , Eleni said during an interview in Greece.
The singer said that in 2005, when she had just started her career, she had a lot of stress.
She concluded by saying, " What I have experienced has made me who I am now. Someone will come back and say to me: 'You who are ashamed...', no, I was not ashamed.
A village boy is not ashamed to say that he is gay, he is not ashamed of who he is, he is afraid of the reaction and the outcry of the world.
I wish it would change, I feel so good inside. I will teach my child what he wants to do and be proud of it.
I have experienced it and it is a very strange feeling. Little Eleni couldn't do anything else, she didn't have the courage to say it then.
When I went to a record company and when they closed the door, they said: Come now, the Albanian will make a career! But things have changed now, I'm very happy."
