"Rama is leading the country towards the EU!"/ Sara Mila: At first I

Socialist Party MP Sara Mila, invited to the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV, stated that she initially felt positive about the citizens' protest but now thinks she has lost her compass. Mila said that Rama should continue to govern the country and integrate Albania into the EU.

Sara Mila: In fact, at the first moment when the protest started, not only as a representative of the SP, of the majority, but also as a young girl in politics, I had good feelings, first because of the format, with charming banners, creative young people. We did not share the same cause, but it was worth the moment and Albania. I was proud of the fact that there is a protest in Albania about a topic like the environment, because of a furor that a supposed project made regarding Zvërnec.
Today I think that the protest has lost its meaning. If we talk about the first issue that was raised, today with what the Commissioner for Enlargement has provided, she has given an answer to Albanians and internationals.
On the issue of the environment and on what basis the project will be raised, the discussion is closed. As for the other things that have come up, I have the impression that it is the last attempt to overthrow Rama and the SP. They couldn't do it with votes, they couldn't do it using SPAK and what SPAK guarantees as a body of justice that has received the blessing of this party. The small parties, which say they are new but are not new, couldn't do it. Lapaj came out there only to pull, no one joined him. He had similar causes, medicines, the education system, salaries, brain drain.

Ylli Rakipi: Protesters say that Albania needs a complete political change, that the 35-year-old establishment in Albania needs to be overthrown and that Rama needs to be removed. You certainly don't share this position. Why should Rama continue to govern?

Sara Mila: It's simple, the prime minister and the SP have won 83 mandates by vote. The Albanian citizens have mandated it. He is leading Albania towards a promise not only electoral, but historical to take the country to the EU. Towards this path, everything has been done, education, justice, but also the environment as the case may be, there has been progress, which is not only supposed but also measurable. The EU comes out, IBAR passes, with some gaps that we expect to fix, the EU says within 2027, Albania is the vanguard to close the negotiations. Is this what Albanians want? Edi Rama and the SP are taking the country to the EU. Where is the problem? Are there some problematic situations? Issues to improve? Absolutely. Should we be better listeners? Since the moment I took the mandate, one of the criticisms made to me and the new generation of the SP is that you are cards, mandates, Rama directs you, you have no identity. I've said it before, this opening of the PS with 50 new characters is bold. The thesis that we are cartoons has finally fallen.
