Name/ Victim of Ksamil maritime accident identified

The police have issued an official announcement about the maritime accident that occurred today at around 18:30 in Ksamil, where 22-year-old Albjano Kreçi, a resident of the area, lost his life.

According to the official announcement of the State Police, the young man was sailing on a jet ski when, allegedly due to speed, he collided with a Border Police boat, which was stationed about 400 meters off the coast, monitoring the maritime space.

As a result of the collision, the driver of the jet ski was seriously injured. He was immediately pulled from the sea by police officers and other people in the area, and was urgently transported to the hospital. Despite medical assistance, he died.

"Around 18:30, in Ksamil, citizen AK, about 22 years old, resident of Ksamil, while sailing at sea on a jet ski type watercraft (floating car), it is suspected that, as a result of sailing at speed, he collided with the Border Police boat, which was stationed (stopped) about 400 meters from the coast, monitoring the maritime space.

As a result of the collision, the driver of the vessel was injured, who was immediately pulled from the sea by police officers and other vessel drivers in the area, and was urgently transported to the hospital, but, as a result of the injuries sustained, he lost his life.

"A special investigative group was immediately established and, in cooperation with the Police Supervision Agency, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, actions are being taken to fully clarify the circumstances and cause of the incident , " the police statement said.
