Activist and representative of "Diaspora for a Free Albania", Florian Haçkaj emphasized that the most beautiful thing about this citizen protest is that they have overcome fear and risen up against injustices and the government of Edi Rama.
In an interview with News24, the activist, who was himself present at the massive protests in front of the prime minister's office, stated that Rama must be removed from the government at all costs, adding that power must be returned to the Albanian citizens.
"The protest feels very beautiful in the world, but especially in Tirana. An energy that has spread everywhere. The beautiful thing is that Albanians have killed fear. When you see people of different ages who don't feel it at all, it's the biggest thing and the second is that we have the precedent that Albanians know how to overthrow a government.
If you manage to overthrow Rama, who is all powerful, the other steps become easier because no one bears the responsibility for not acting according to the will of the people. This is a revolution in the making. Even revolutions adapt to the times. We must return power to the citizens. We in the diaspora are protesting even more every day. People want to raise their voices against injustices.
"I am also in favor of Rama's resignation, a transitional government, composed of people not involved in politics, who set the stage for how the next elections will be held. The electoral code and all of this are part of what needs to be changed," he said.
