EBRD: Albanian girls surpass boys in high math scores

For years, math has been considered a field where boys are more inclined and successful. But the latest data shows that this perception is increasingly fading, at least in Albania.
An analysis published in the latest EBRD report, based on the results of the international PISA 2022 test, shows that Albania ranks among the countries with the highest representation of girls in the group of the most talented students in mathematics.
About 40% of the students with the highest scores are girls, an indicator that challenges traditional beliefs about gender differences in exact sciences.
Girls, the report shows, spend more time doing exercises, participating in competitions and science olympiads.
