Pique's parents break their silence on his split from Shakira

Barcelona legend Gerard Pique and singer Shakira caused a stir when they revealed the end of their 12-year relationship.
The parents of Pique, who is now dating model Clara Chia Marti, have broken their silence on their son's split with Shakira. Joan Pique and Montserrat Bernabeu have so far kept quiet about the former couple's split, but according to a Spanish journalist, they have finally shared their side of the story.
"A is leaving Barça now because he doesn't want to leave through the back door. He needs to be calm to resolve his issues with Shakira, " Pique's parents said.
Shakira and Pique do not want to go to court
When Shakira and Pique announced their split, speculation immediately began about how they would divide their assets and of course who would get custody of their children. Both sides are said to be aiming to reach an agreement to avoid going to court.
However, there is some friction, as Pique wants his children to stay in Barcelona and Shakira wants to move them with him to Miami. Their lawyers are said to have been in constant communication with each other as they try to resolve the remaining cases.
