Excitingly, Franck Ribery announces his retirement from football
Franck Ribery has announced his retirement from active football through a post on social networks.
The Frenchman celebrates his 40th birthday next April, as numerous injuries have not left him alone in the years throughout his career, but especially now that recovery turns into an even more complicated mission.
Ribery has played with teams such as Bayern Munich, Marseille, Galatasaray and Metz.
Since September of last year, he has been part of Salernitana in Serie A, while he spent his golden years in Bavaria with Bayern, a team with which he won a total of 23 trophies in 12 seasons.
"The ball stops. The emotions inside me, no. Thank you all for this incredible adventure," wrote the left-footed striker, one of the last dribblers and artists of the most beautiful game in the world.
Leaving football, but not from Salernitana, as Ribery will continue to be part of the technical staff of coach Davide Nicola.
The latter managed to keep Salernitana in the elite of Italian football last season, a fantastic achievement considering the crisis in which the team was plunged.
