HISTORICAL/ Lorela Cubaj, Albanian basketball player wins bronze medal at European. Italy triumphs after 30 years of waiting

The Italian basketball team won its first medal in 30 years, defeating France 69-54 in Piraeus. Italy won the bronze medal at EuroBasket Women 2025, finishing in third place.

Albanian Lorela Cubaj also played in this mini-final and was awarded the bronze medal. We recall that she was decisive and sent her team to the semi-finals by scoring against Turkey.

Cubaj, 26, who is developing an excellent career in basketball, is the first player of Albanian origin to play in the "Women's NBA".

The final took place between Spain and Belgium, and it was the latter who triumphed, taking home the gold medal.
