Linked to several European teams, Barcelona insists on Xavi Simons

Barcelona have opened talks with Xavi Simons' representatives, exploring the possibility of bringing the Dutch midfielder to Camp Nou. The 21-year-old is currently on loan at RB Leipzig from French club Paris Saint-Germain and has been linked with several big European sides.
Simons, who was once part of the La Masia academy, has excelled with his performances for PSV Eindhoven and RB Leipzig, increasing Barcelona's interest in bringing him back. RB Leipzig are demanding at least 70 million euros to release the player, a sum that could be an obstacle to a permanent transfer.
Barca tried to loan Simons last summer but a deal fell through, but this time, the situation looks more promising. The Catalan club's connections with agents close to the player's representatives could help speed up talks. Darren Dein, an agent with links to Joan Laporta, represents Simons and is expected to play a key role in the negotiations, especially if a loan option is made more likely by a clause that gives the player the right to choose his destination.
