The dream of a medal ends, Donjeta Sadiku is eliminated from the Olympic Games

Kosovar boxer Donjeta Sadiku has failed in her bid to win a medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, after being defeated on Monday night by Paola Angie Valdes Pana.

The Colombian boxer won by split decision of the judges in the match of the 1/8 finals in the category up to 60 kilograms, in the French capital.

Sadik had won the first match, defeating Thailand's Thanaya Somnuek.

This was the second appearance of the 25-year-old from Pristina in the Olympic Games, after her debut by invitation in Tokyo 2020, when she had already lost in the first fight.

She is the first and only female or male competitor to represent Kosovo in boxing at the Olympic Games.
