
Boxing legend dies at 76

George Foreman, known as "Big George," has died at the age of 76. His family confirmed the sad news in a post on Instagram, describing him as a man of unwavering faith, humility, and great purpose in life.
Foreman had one of the most illustrious careers in boxing history. He won the Olympic gold medal in 1968 and was twice crowned world heavyweight champion, becoming the oldest champion in history at the age of 45. Among his most famous fights was his defeat by Muhammad Ali at the “Rumble in the Jungle” in 1974. In total, he had 76 wins, 68 of which were by knockout.
In addition to his career in the ring, Foreman also became known for his successful business with electric grills that bore his name.
Sports' most famous figures have paid tribute to his memory. Mike Tyson called Foreman's contribution "unforgettable," while Ring magazine hailed him as "one of the greatest heavyweights of all time."
Foreman was born in Marshall, Texas, on January 10, 1949, and lived a life filled with challenges, from the rough streets of his youth to the pinnacle of world sport. He will always remain a boxing icon and an inspiration for generations to come.
