What happened? Instagram goes down for 2 billion users worldwide

Instagram went down this Friday for many users in the US, UK, parts of Europe, Asia and Australia.

The problem began around noon, and while the cause of the outage remains unknown, Instagram users have shared their concerns on the social network X.

Meta, the company that runs Instagram, has not yet issued an official statement about the cause of this problem.

This issue comes just days after another similar outage that affected users on March 11. Instagram, which has over 2 billion monthly active users, is one of the most popular platforms, but it seems to experience frequent outages, with some reports pointing to a similar event earlier this year.
