Accused of raping his stepmother, the appeal leaves Nehat Kulla's son under house arrest

The Court of Appeal has taken Nehat Kullë's son, Robert Kullë, out of the cell and set the security measure "house arrest".
Robert Kulla is accused of having violated his stepmother, who was provided with a protection order. Earlier, Kulla said that he did not use violence against her.
"The case on appeal was examined on the basis of the complaint made by the person under investigation with the initials R. K, who requested the annulment of the decision, the immediate release since he did not commit the criminal offense. Alternatively, the setting of a more lenient insurance measure.
At the end of the trial, today on 14.06.2024, the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction, composed of the panel with Judge Mr. Fuat Vjerdha decided:
- Approval of decision no. 1443 Regj.Them, date 03.06.2024 of the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction Tirana with the following changes:- Assigning to the suspect R. K the security measure "house arrest", provided by article 237 of the Criminal Code .Criminal, ordering the suspect R. K not to leave his apartment...
- The immediate release of suspect R. K from IEVP "Jordan Misja" Tirana is ordered, if he is not held for any other legal reason.
The reason for the conflict between Robert Kulla and his stepmother is suspected to be the ownership of the villa of the late Nehat Kulla, located in the Tufina area of Tirana. Nehat Kulla was the head of a criminal gang in 1997, where he managed to create a separate police station, with activity in the area of Tufina and Kinostudio. Nehat Kulla died at the age of 67 in June 2020, as a result of illness. He was convicted for the murder of Petri Moriçeni and the Neziri brothers. One of his victims was a policeman at Police Station number 4.
