Businessman Elman Abule, friend and associate of Veliaj, is also arrested

As part of the Erion Veliaj case, the Special Prosecution Office has also issued a "prison arrest" order against Albanian-Belgian businessman Elman Abule.
The news is confirmed by media sources, as he is charged with committing the criminal offense of " Laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity ", committed in collaboration .
Elmam Abule has also testified before SPAK on the matter in question, together with his wife Marisa Nito.
Elman Abule and Marisa Nito are considered close friends of the Veliaj family, where their friendship seems to have been intertwined through several suspicious financial transactions that the Abule couple made at the address of Ajola Xoxa's bank accounts.
Elman Abule is also under investigation by the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, where he is accused of having set up a money laundering scheme, in which his wife is a part, along with Kristian Boçi and Vladimir Avramin. The prosecution blocked around 50 million euros of assets that were mainly invested in construction, as the money had a suspicious origin. But the seizure was lifted a few days later when the Appeals Prosecutor, Arta Marku, returned the properties to the defendants.
