Migena Salihi, 27, a teacher in Shkodra, passed away just a few days after becoming a mother for the first time and a few hours after pleading with all Albanians to donate blood, due to health complications.
Migena became the mother of twin girls, but luck was not on her side as she tragically passed away a few days after their birth, unable to enjoy them.
Just 4 years ago she was engaged to Noel, with whom they dreamed and began to build their lives together.
She graduated as a teacher in Geography at the University of Shkodra "Luigj Gurakuqi", while practicing her profession as a teacher.
Activist Mirsad Basha writes in a post on Facebook: "Today we lost one of the most energetic girls, one of the fantastic girls of this city. A super active, family-oriented girl and an example in society. We are speechless, we can't believe it! Migena, we loved you very much, always...".
While her friends from the association have also planted a tree in her memory.
We recall that immediately after giving birth to the twins, Migena's health condition deteriorated, making it necessary to urgently obtain type 0 negative blood.
Despite the fact that the call for help spread rapidly on social media, the mobilization of dozens of citizens who responded to the appeal, as well as the efforts of doctors, she could not survive, leaving her two newborn babies orphaned.
Despite the fact that she is no longer here, Migena will "live" in the hearts of those who loved her dearly, and despite the pain, she will be remembered through the two babies whom fate "did not want" her to raise alone.
