Hunger strike in Marinza, Bankers Petroleum employee loses consciousness

The hunger strike of Bankers Petroleum employees in Marinza has been going on for six days. Today, one of the strikers lost consciousness while standing outside the hydrocarbon sector union premises.

It is reported that employee Josif Lino, a mechanic, was immediately transported to the company's health center, where he received medical assistance.

On the sixth day of the hunger strike, at least 10 members of the union council have shown worsening health conditions.

The workers' protest began after a new agreement with the company failed to be reached. They are demanding a pay rise, better working conditions, transparency in future contracts and guarantees for their professional rights. The union has warned that it will continue the strike until a concrete solution is found.
