A serious incident occurred in Tolentino, in the province of Macerata in Italy, where a 45-year-old Albanian woman was beaten to death in the middle of the city, in front of passersby.
According to initial reports, the suspected perpetrator of the crime is her ex-husband, who has been detained by the Carabinieri. The victim is Gentiana Hudhra, while her ex-husband, Nikollaq Hudhra, 55 years old, was placed in handcuffs.
The suspect initially stabbed her, then, according to witnesses, kicked her as she fell to the ground, seriously injured, and finally sat on a nearby bench, watching her as she died.
The victim, a mother of two adult children, was on her way to work when she was attacked near the city park, an area she passed by daily.
Witnesses and patrons of nearby bars heard the screams and immediately called for medical help, but when the ambulance arrived, it was too late. Attempts to resuscitate him were in vain.
According to preliminary information, the perpetrator was sitting on a bench waiting for the victim to pass by, Italian media reported.
The investigation is in its initial stages and it is not yet known whether the victim had previously been the subject of violence or threats. So far, according to law enforcement, there have been no previous complaints or alerts in her name.
