Shijak police have arrested four people in flagrante delicto, who had adapted an environment for the cultivation of narcotic plants, using equipment supplied through an illegal electricity connection.

According to the police report, citizens LK, 54 years old, J. Gj., 31 years old, SD, 24 years old, and RB, 61 years old, were arrested. The latter, an employee of OSHEE, is suspected of not having reported the illegal connection of electricity to the premises in question.

Also, citizen DK, 25 years old, son of citizen LK, has been declared wanted, who is suspected of the criminal offense of "Cultivation of narcotic plants", committed in collaboration.

From the investigative actions, it is suspected that citizen LK, in collaboration with his son DK, had rented a closed environment to citizen J. Gj., who, together with others, had adapted it for the cultivation of narcotic plants.

During the searches in the rented premises, the police found and seized 180 pots, where cannabis plants had previously been cultivated, which had been cut down before the police intervened. Also found were bottles and suspected cannabis residues, as well as a water pump, air filter, suction pipe, 7 electric bulbs, 7 fans, 16 power supply devices, a fuse block and other auxiliary tools used for the cultivation of narcotic plants.

An environment (warehouse) adapted for the cultivation of narcotic plants, with equipment that was supplied with illegal electricity connections, was discovered in Shijak.

4 citizens suspected of being involved in this criminal activity were arrested (one of them an OSHEE employee).

One of the suspected perpetrators is declared wanted.

Following the plan of measures to identify and crack down on the cultivation of narcotic plants in open and closed environments, based on information obtained operationally, the services of the Shijak Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the services of the Durrës Local Police Directorate, have exercised intensive controls in closed environments, with the aim of ascertaining and cracking down on cases of cultivation of narcotic plants using lamps.

During the operation codenamed "Adaptation", the Police services discovered a premises (warehouse), rented by citizen J. Gj., in the "Popullore" neighborhood, Shijak, which they had adapted for the cultivation of narcotic plants, with equipment that was supplied with illegal electricity connections.

From the checks in this environment, 180 pots where cannabis plants had previously been cultivated, but which had been cut down before the Police intervened, bottles and suspected cannabis residues, a water pump, an air filter, an aspiration tube, 7 electric bulbs, 7 fans, 16 electrical power packs, a fuse block and other auxiliary equipment used for the cultivation of narcotic plants were found and seized as material evidence.

Following the actions in the case, 4 citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:

LK, 54 years old, and J. Gj., 31 years old, as they are suspected of the criminal offense of "Cultivation of narcotic plants", committed in collaboration;

SD, 24 years old, suspected of the criminal offense of "Failure to report a crime";

RB, 61 years old, for the criminal offense of "Abuse of office".

Citizen DK, 25 years old, (son of citizen L. K), who is suspected of the criminal offense of "Cultivation of narcotic plants", committed in collaboration, was also declared wanted.

From the investigative actions, it is suspected that citizen LK, in collaboration with his son, citizen DK, had rented a closed environment to citizen J. Gj., which, in collaboration with each other, they had adapted for the purpose of cultivating narcotic plants.

While citizen RB (an employee of OSHEE) is suspected of not having reported the illegal connection of electricity in that environment.

Meanwhile, citizen S. D. is suspected of being aware of this criminal activity taking place in that environment and not reporting it.

Work continues to capture the 25-year-old and fully document this criminal activity.

The procedural materials were referred to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office for further action.
