Tirana police have arrested two people for drug trafficking, and 1 kg of heroin was seized. Gëzim Muhameti, also known by the surname Demiri, and Zhuljan Prençi were arrested in flagrante delicto, following information that Tirana's anti-drugs unit had received through operational channels.
From the investigative actions it is suspected that the two arrested would supply other persons with this quantity of narcotic substance, with the aim of distributing it in doses in different areas of the capital, mainly in the area of New Tirana. According to sources, Gëzim Muhameti, known by the nickname Gëzim Qorri, has been involved in the field of narcotics for more than 20 years. He is considered one of the main suppliers of other groups operating in Tirana.
The suspicions are that he was transporting the drugs to Italy. The origin of the seized heroin is Turkey, while Muhameti is suspected of having obtained the quantity in the city of Elbasan. The value of the seized heroin was worth over 50 thousand euros on the market. Gëzim Muhameti has previously been convicted of drugs.
