The owner of a gas station in the city of Saranda and the chairman of the local branch of the Patriotic Association "Çamëria", Rexhep Ismaili, was executed this Thursday evening on one of the streets of the coastal city with a bullet in the head.
The incident occurred around 10:00 PM and numerous services from the Saranda Police Commissariat, several units of the "Eagle" Forces and the prosecutor on duty arrived at the scene and immediately ordered the establishment of checkpoints to reach the perpetrator(s).
Rexhep Ismaili was 66 years old and it is not known whether this was a momentary conflict or whether his execution with a bullet to the head was a result of old events, where the businessman who owned a gas station in the city was shot to death.
Newsbomb.al has secured a photograph of the victim, while his macabre execution has shocked the city of Saranda, which has now officially entered the summer season and welcomes numerous vacationers and tourists.
It is learned that Rexhep Ismaili is originally Cham and six years ago, in 2020, he was elected chairman of the Patriotic Homeland Branch "Çamëria" in Saranda. He enjoyed respect in the coastal city and the motives for the murder remain a mystery.
