The murder of Sajmir Markja in Durrës, his brother's confession: How the institutions tried to hide the event

A serious incident occurred on April 13 in Durrës, resulting in the loss of life of Sajmir Markjas, 59 years old.
What makes this case more serious is the fact that for four days, the event was treated by institutions and witnesses as a loss of life due to cardiac arrest.
The victim's brother, Mentor Markja, invited this evening to Top Story, recounted the entire dynamic, which they as a family discovered on April 17th, by a coincidence or "sign from God", as he calls it.
The entire incident took place in a garage that functioned as a service station, in a building where the victim lived. The latter had gone to this location to meet another resident, and to discuss the purchase of a water pump for the building, which the administrator had told them was worth over 2 million old lek, and the victim had offered to buy it for him, after he had found it for less than 200 thousand old lek.
The moment he went to the service station, where several people were present, a verbal argument began, and at that moment he chose to leave.
In the security camera footage, the victim is heard addressing the suspected killer, saying "don't curse at him" and continuing on his way to leave.
The moment he left this environment, Gentjan Kraja, who had come out in front of him, turned and hit him, throwing him to the ground, and continuing to punch him even though he was unconscious.
The victim was then transported to the hospital, where his family was notified and told by the institutions that the cause of death was cardiac arrest. His brother says that after he went and saw him in the morgue, he noticed a mark on the corner of his lip, and a crack on the side of his head.
And while the questions continued, the funeral procedures were carried out at the last residence. Two hours before the funeral, the victim's wife told his brother that they had to find his watch, as she had loved it very much.
This is where the twist begins to reveal the truth, that it was not a natural death, but murder.
The victim's brother began looking for the watch, and people who could have been witnesses 'followed' him to various places as he asked them where he had fallen unconscious and where his personal belongings were.
After the funeral, the family continued their search for the incident, until on April 17, they came across security footage that revealed the tragic truth.
"On April 13, we received news that brother Sajmir was in the emergency room. I thought there was something wrong with the blood pressure. I called my wife, the police officer came out and told me that he was in a bad mood, we're waiting... I asked him if he was dead and he said yes.
"I went to the morgue, an autopsy had been performed, while it should have been done after 12 hours. I saw a mark on the lip, I saw a mark on the head, they told me not to touch it, they said it was a scratch. I saw that there was a crack on the head. It was a vertical blow, it was a crack from the inside, a strong blow," he recounts.
"We made preparations for the funeral... on the 14th at 2:00 PM, Sajmir's wife said she had a watch, and I called the OPGJ because I thought they had his watch."
They told me that two guys brought that watch to the emergency room and took it to the service center. I went and asked them where it had fallen, they told me to ask up front. I doubted it. I didn't know where it had fallen. I wanted help from people to get the watch. At the service center they told me that we 'threw it, and the sweatshirt'...
I went to the police station, and the funeral time came and I couldn't make it. But I had a lot of questions. The funeral took place and my friends and I were talking about who was the last person to contact.
There had been a discussion about a pump in the building, and the brother said he would find it because he could find it cheaper. He had made an appointment with Leli.
The brother goes inside the business, which is a service station, and goes to where Mario and the other person were, who had parked their motorbikes.
They then leave, the brother is heard telling him that 'I didn't say dirty words' and they leave.
When he leaves the service, he turns and hits him, after knocking him to the ground, punches him and tears his jaw.
"We discovered this video on the 17th. There were several people who saw it ," he said.
