Dozens of business representatives gathered today in front of the Vlora Municipality, where they are requesting a meeting with the mayor regarding demolition actions on the eve of the summer season.
In an official request to the Municipality, the Aulona Regional Tourist Association (ARTA) requests an extension of the demolition deadline until the end of September.
According to businesses, interventions during this period harm economic activity, as many structures such as pergolas, sun awnings, and additional facilities are part of their investments.
They emphasize that Vlora relies on the tourist season and seek dialogue with institutions to find a solution that does not harm local business.
"We have come to protest so that our business is not disrupted this tourist season. The season opens in 2-3 days, IKMT says business will be disrupted. We want a solution from Rama or the mayor, at least if a project has come out, to be informed. We have come to learn how to act. We have many people who work for us. Today we came as a business, tomorrow there will be more of us," said one of them.
