Drug trafficker arrested in Tirana for supplying Venice with cocaine

A 45-year-old Albanian man, internationally wanted since 2022 for drug trafficking, has been arrested in Tirana by Albanian police, ending a several-year escape.
According to authorities , the operation is the result of a joint investigation between the Italian and Albanian police, involving investigators from the Squadra Mobile di Venezia and the Servizio Centrale Operativo (SCO), under the coordination of the Venice Prosecutor's Office.
Investigations revealed that the arrested man, whose identity is still unknown, had lived for a period in Dubai, and had recently returned to Albania. Authorities identified his location through monitoring the movements of family members, which led to the finalization of the operation in Tirana.
The suspect was formally convicted of participating in an organized criminal group for drug trafficking and cocaine distribution in the Veneto region of Italy, specifically in the Mestre area. According to the investigation, he played a leading role in the organization, managing the supply and distribution of narcotics between 2019–2021.
A "red notice" was issued against him by Interpol, classifying him as one of the internationally wanted persons for drug trafficking.
The arrest is part of the "Wanted" operation, coordinated by Italian authorities to capture high-risk individuals who are internationally wanted.
