During the last 21 months, by order of the Prosecutor's Office of Saranda and SPAK, 23 officials of the public administration and 1 notary have been arrested, and another official has been declared wanted.
For "abuse of duty" and in some cases for "passive corruption" 6 officials of ASHK Sarandë, 10 officials of Sarandë Municipality, 2 officials of ARZM Vlorë and Sarandë, 4 officials of IMT, 1 official of the Ministry of Justice, 1 notary, as well as 1 official of ASHK Sarandë has been declared wanted. The arrests were made in two cases in Vlora and Tirana due to the connection found in the criminal offense with the city of Saranda.
Meanwhile, in addition to the above 25 officials, the Prosecutor's Office of Saranda has also sent for trial a former official of IMT and a former official of the hospital of Saranda, as SPAK had previously started the proceedings for them, but the file was then transferred to Saranda , while a current official of ASHK Saranda has also been sent to trial after its proceedings.
Of the 24 officials arrested, only 14 have suffered a period of time under the security measure "Arrest in prison", while it is not known whether this measure will continue for the official arrested yesterday, which could increase the number to 15. 9 officials others, immediately after the arrest, were placed under the security measure "Compulsion to appear" or "House arrest".
