A day in juvenile prison/ The young man: Fun is getting small, I'll be 19

There are 18 juveniles convicted in Kavaja Prison. The camera of Euronews Albania was this Monday inside the premises where the minors are serving their sentence.
Minors between the ages of 16 and 18 have been convicted or are in the process of trial for various criminal offenses, from theft to the most serious, murder.
Some have repented of their crimes, others refuse to answer. Life within four walls has not been easy for them.
"I miss a lot of things, my youth is gone, I've lost as much as I did when I was 15, I'm about to turn 19. I have fallen for theft with violence, robbery, only that I am behind it with a cold weapon... Enjoy what you did when you were young, at 19 I will pick up the pace as they caught up in my time, I am far behind, I have stayed and I will continue". said a prisoner.
Others seem to have surrendered to fate.
"Here is the rehabilitation center, the children are well received, but the glory of the prison, the name it has, kills you... The prison always has its limitations, there is no great freedom... that you don't stay with the family all day, you are not near them", he said another prisoner.
In the prison of Kavaja, most of the time is taken up by various educational, social and psychological programs to help minors. Their goal is not to repeat the criminal offenses for which they are serving their sentence.
"In the morning we have school, in the afternoon we have activities, we play on the computer, football, gym and we have professional courses. It's seasonal, once you'll go to work with wood, then to plumbing... we get the diploma here ," he said.
