Protester denounces fines against diaspora cars at the border

The protest against the Rama government continued today for the 23rd consecutive day in Tirana, with the participation of thousands of citizens.

During the rally, a woman took the floor at the improvised podium, raising accusations against the behavior of the state police at the border, especially against the vehicles of the diaspora that came to Albania over the weekend to join the protest.

She claimed that vehicles coming from the diaspora have been penalized with high fines and that they have not been allowed to leave the country without paying the dues.

According to her, this is an unfair way of treating Albanians living abroad who came to participate in the protest.

"Do you know how this corrupt state welcomed our diaspora? By imposing maximum fines. All cars that entered the border were fined high amounts. It is unacceptable that our children are treated like this. They did not let them pass without paying the fines, they were forced to return to pay them," she said.

The statement was met with reactions from other protesters, while the protest continued normally in the square.
