War within the SP/ Romina Kuko attacks Spiropali: Late reformers seek protagonism
Socialist MP Romina Kuko has responded to her colleague Elisa Spiropali, publicly rejecting the "New Deal for Albania" narrative that the former minister is promoting by coming out and

opposite Edi Rama.
In an analysis of the protests and political developments, Kuko seems to address Spiropali without directly mentioning him, questioning the legitimacy of those who claim to speak on behalf of citizens without presenting a team, a program, or a concrete vision.
"Citizens should ask who speaks on their behalf, who they are following, and what the plan is. If these are missing, then the lack of answers is the answer itself ," Kuko writes.
The socialist MP goes even further, attacking figures who today appear as reformers, but who, according to her, have failed to leave a mark even in the sectors they previously led.
" It is no coincidence that the reformist voices of people who have been tried and tried again in power and have not been able to reform even the area they have had in their hands are increasing," she emphasizes.
Kuko's message is read as a direct criticism of Spiropali, who after leaving the government has become increasingly critical of the current leadership of the Socialist Party and has articulated the need for its "renewal".
But for Kuko, this new political language is nothing more than a personal attempt at protagonism.
According to her, calls for change without a program, without a team, and without political responsibility risk damaging the country's European path.
"Those who talk about renewal without offering any real alternative are using beautiful language for much more modest purposes than they claim ," the MP said.
The clash comes at a time when relations between Spiropali and the SP leaders appear increasingly cold. Since leaving the Ministry, the former minister has chosen to articulate her positions mainly through social networks, staying away from the party's political activities.
Spiropali has responded to Edi Rama's call, who declared that he is ready to host the draft for the "New Albania".
During the meeting of the socialist parliamentary group, speaking about the massive protests demanding his resignation, Rama called on protesters but also political representatives to bring their draft for a "new Albania", although he expressed skepticism that such a plan exists.
But Spiropali has challenged Rama by vowing to have a “New Deal for Albania.” According to her, to achieve this, the Socialist Party must first find the strength and purify itself.
