Albania under the power of flames, Greek embassy: Our thoughts are with the Albanian people! Within our capacities, we contribute to extinguishing the fires with aerial firefighting vehicles

The Greek Embassy has reacted to the fire situation in Albania through a post on Facebook. The Embassy writes that it is monitoring the situation and that within its capacities they are contributing to extinguishing the fires with aerial firefighting vehicles.

The reaction further states that their thoughts are with the Albanian people. Our country has been in an alarming situation for days with fires that have gotten out of control, especially in Delvina and Gramsh.

Italy has also contributed to extinguishing the flames by sending 5 helicopters and 1 Canadair firefighting aircraft. 

"The Embassy of Greece in Albania expresses its sincere condolences to the friendly and neighboring country, Albania, and monitors the situation with the wide front of fires in the country.  In the spirit of cooperation and solidarity, Greece, within the framework of its capacities, contributes to the effort to extinguish the fires with aerial firefighting vehicles, both within the framework of the European Civil Protection Mechanism, as well as in the context of bilateral cooperation.
Our thoughts are with the Albanian people," the post says.
